Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
 
 
Job Title:                         Dietary Aide
Reports To:                     Executive Chef
Department:                   Culinary/Dining
 
General Summary:
To provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and instructed in accordance with established federal, state and local dietary regulations, policies and procedures.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Assist in the preparation and service of foods.
  • Know and use portion control procedures.
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning.
  • Assist in dish and utensil washing and sanitization including gathering soiled items and replacing them with clean sanitized items.
  • Assist in checking all meal trays/plates for accuracy and dietary preferences.
  • Assists in ensuring proper storage of food items.
  • Able to “Serve” guests and provide beverage and bar services as required.
  • Monitors supplies that are needed for service, i.e. paper goods, linens, carry out containers, condiments etc.
  • Conveys needs in these supplies’ areas to Executive level for proper procurement.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Reports items needing maintenance or replacement to proper authorities.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Job-Related Experience/Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and move lifted items three (3) to four (4) feet
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop and reach frequently
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety practices and accident prevention
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation, food preparation, and the maintenance of kitchen and food service areas
Exposure to Hazardous Conditions:
  • Exposure to hazardous gas/chemical fumes is seldom
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids is occasional.
  • Exposure to loud noises is frequent
Preferred Job-Related Experience/Abilities/Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
