Name: Spring Fling for Grass River Natural Area
Date: September 22, 2020
Time: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Each year the Dockside Restaurant on Torch Lake holds a fundraiser for the Grass River Natural Area. This year will be no exception though the event moved from its usual springtime slot to an early fall date. New owners Ruben Meneses and Brandon Nichols assured GRNA that the popular season opening fundraiser would continue, but COVID-19 delayed the event until the end of summer when they felt confident that new operational procedures were in place.  Fifty percent of all sales from 5 – 9 pm on the 22nd will be donated to Grass River Natural Area, so GRNA can continue to meet their mission "to conserve and protect its watershed and provide opportunities that increase knowledge, appreciation, and community-wide stewardship of the natural environment".  The Dockside is located on the Chain of Lakes watershed served by the Grass River, so Meneses and Nichols value the protection that GRNA provides just north of their popular waterside establishment.  Masks will need to be worn, social distancing will be in place, and the popular deck will be open if weather permits. The Dockside is located at 6340 Old Torch Lake Dr, Bellaire MI 49615.
