Special Olympics Michigan is helping to create a world that accepts and welcomes every single person regardless of ability or disability. The Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Michigan. All funds raised by Plungers help Special Olympics Michigan provide year-round training and services to over 23,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. This year, the annual Grand Traverse Area Polar Plunge has a BRAND NEW location: Short's Brewing Co. Pull Barn in Elk Rapids! Come freeze for a reason with Short's, as they showcase their new IPA that benefits athletes with intellectual disabilities across Michigan - ALL IN IPA! Event Schedule: 10 am - Plunge Check-In Opens & Pre-Plunge Party at Short's Pull Barn! Turn in cash & check donations, get your incentives, a beverage, & prepare to plunge! 12 pm - Plunge into the Plungester at Short's Pull Barn! Plungers will walk up the stairs, jump in, and exit the opposite side. - Plungers will plunge in order of wristband color - Wear SHOES to plunge and bring a dry pair to change into - Bring a towel - HAVE FUN! SAFETY RULES *Shoes Required* *No Diving* *No Backflips* After-Party - Splash Bash & Awards Party at the Pull Barn! Lunch is included for all plungers who raise $100+. Drinks (& food for spectators) available for purchase on-site.
