The Music House Museum is proud to present the Kodak Quartet and Interlochen pianist Hyemin Kim in concert, Sunday July 28, 2024 at 7:00PM
The award-winning Kodak Quartet and Interlochen pianist Hyemin Kim will be presenting a riveting musical journey beginning in the “colorscapes” of French Impressionism, through the meaningful and intense contemporary American work by the living legend John Zorn, and closed by one of the most loved piano quintets of all time, Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44.
Praised for their "electrifying eye contact and rhythmic flexibility" (Sean MacLean, KING FM), the award-winning Kodak Quartet is highly regarded for their work with contemporary composers on new compositions and for presenting traditional works with a contemporary flavor. Kodak Quartet formed in Rochester, New York while attending the Eastman School of Music and are currently based in New York, NY. Kodak's members hail from the US, Canada and France. Kodak Quartet is currently the Cuker and Stern Resident String Quartet at the Mannes School of Music, studying with the JACK Quartet.
A versatile performing artist and educator, Dr. Hyemin Kim serves as a Collaborative Piano Faculty and teaches secondary piano lessons at Interlochen Arts Academy and has a wide range of musical careers as a soloist, recitalist, collaborator, chamber musician, and piano instructor. As a featured soloist, Kim has been invited to perform with several orchestras, such as Philharmonische Solisten Bratislava (Mozart Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Austria), Archi Chamber Orchestra (Sungsan Art Hall, South Korea), and Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra (Corson Auditorium, Interlochen, MI). She has also had numerous invitation performances throughout the U.S., Austria and Korea.
