The Rotary Club of Elk Rapids will host retired Great Lakes Packing co-owner Norm Veliquette and on Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. at The HERTH for a presentation titled “Cherries: Michigan’s Romantic Food Crop.” The program is open to the public and will be held at the Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall (HERTH), located at 401 River St., Elk Rapids, free of charge. Mr. Veliquette, a long-time cherry processor, will share stories of the impact of cherry growing on area families and businesses. A question and answer period will follow.
